Therefore, the donor and the recipient couple will only know general data, such as the blood groups, hair and eye colour, age\u2026 which will be provided by the centre.<\/p>\n<p>Once the process is finished, the donor will be rewarded for the inconveniences and travel expenses, as well as for the time dedicated to the donation.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space]<h1 class=\"box-header\">The requirements to become a donor are:<\/h1><ul class=\"simple-list clearfix\"><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tTo be between the ages of 18 and 30 (in the case of our centre).<\/li><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tNot to present any infectious or genetic diseases.<\/li><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tTo have a normal karyotype (chromosomal study).<\/li><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tNormal reproduction system.<\/li><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tTo be in good physical and mental health.<\/li><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tNegative study for sexually transmitted diseases.<\/li><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tTo have a semen of normal characteristics to become a donor.<\/li><\/ul>[vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space]<h1 class=\"box-header\">What does the process consist of?<\/h1>[vc_column_text]We start with an exhausted interview to collect personal and family information and to rule out any possible hereditary disease or other causes of exclusion from the donation program.<\/p>\n<p>The medical team will study the questionnaire and, if everything is correct, will contact the candidate to carry out the relevant analysis and urological exploration.<\/p>\n<p>A first semen sample is examined under a microscope, observing the quantity and motility of sperm. If the result is normal, a freezing test is performed in order to determine if 40% or more of sperm survive the freezing process.<\/p>\n<p>If the spermogramme and the rest of the analysis are correct, the donor will be included in the donation program and a semen sample delivery routine will be established for a minimum of three months. After this period of time, the analysis will be repeated to verify if the donor is pathogen-free and, therefore, to confirm that the frozen samples can be used reliably.<\/p>\n<p>At this point, he can stop from being a donor, if he wishes to do so.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space]<h1 class=\"box-header\">Questions about donation<\/h1>[vc_empty_space]<h3 class=\"box-header no-border\">In which situations can the centre decide that a donor is no longer suitable?<\/h3><ul class=\"simple-list clearfix\"><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tWhen periodical analysis reveal any type of abnormality.<\/li><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tWhen semen quality, once tested, is not satisfactory or when after thawing the survival is not satisfactory.<\/li><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tWhen a donor has reached the number of live births resulting from their sperm established by law (a maximum of 6).<\/li><\/ul>[vc_empty_space]<h3 class=\"box-header no-border\">Which factors can affect the quality of the sample?<\/h3><ul class=\"simple-list clearfix\"><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tSexual abstinence: It is recommended to maintain between 3 and 5 days of sexual abstinence when bringing samples to the centre.<\/li><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tThe way to get the sample: It is important to collect the whole sample.<\/li><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tThe stress, feverish conditions, taking certain medicines or certain living habits may compromise the quality of the sample. For that reason, it is recommended to adopt healthy life habits.<\/li><li class=\"template-right_black clearfix\">\n\t\t\tUrological pathologies.<\/li><\/ul>[vc_column_text]If the donor is in one of these situations, he must communicate it to the centre.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space]<h3 class=\"box-header no-border\">How many samples do the donors have to bring?<\/h3>[vc_column_text]Once the donation process has started, the donor is recommended to bring a sample every week for a period of approximately three months.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;]<div
